The Asian Utricularia graminifolia belongs to the bladderwort family, which are all insectivorous perennial aquatic plants. In nature, it lives in places that are poor in nutrients, hence the need to catch small insects and digest them.

This family is characterized in particular by the unique skins that the plants bear and which also form on Utricularia graminifolia some time after its arrival in the aquarium.

Used as ground cover or between rocks and can reach 2 to 8 cm in height. The name of this species means "herbaceous leaves" and the fresh green leaves quickly form a pretty little carpet like a lawn.
