'Spiky' is Asian and reaches 2 to 10 cm in height. Best described as the big brother of Christmas moss, it is larger and forms many branched, dark green shoots. Prickly moss does best on vertical surfaces where branching shoots will be visible. A beautiful carpet effect is possible if you plant small clumps in the lower substrate with a little free space. It grows quickly and thrives in very low light intensity.
