The Staurogyne repens stem plant is a green, compact and robust aquarium foreground plant, native to the Rio Cristalino in the south of the Amazon in Brazil.
The closest species in aquariums is Hygrophila, but Staurogyne differentiates itself with its compact bush-like shape and smaller leaves.
The stem reaches 5-10 cm high and 3-4 cm wide. When planting, pinch and transplant the longest shoots of the plant so that the Staurogyne forms new horizontal shoots at the base.
