Seachem Zeolite is an exceptionally porous natural mineral used to help clean and clarify freshwater and saltwater aquariums by quickly binding harmful ammonia and heavy metals such as lead, copper, nickel and zinc . Using an ion exchange mechanism, the carrier has a higher binding capacity than any other product currently on the market. Zeolite will not deplete calcium in salt water or increase general hardness levels in fresh water. This versatile media can be used in cartridge filters, media chambers, box filters or any high flow area of a trickle filter. Comes in a 250 ml container.
Instructions:
Rinse before use. Use 250 ml (1 cup) of Seachem Zeolite per 200 L (50 US gallons) of aquarium water. For small aquariums, the equivalent dose is 5 ml (1 level teaspoon) per 4 L (1 US gallon). This amount of zeolite will remove up to 0.5 mg/L of harmful ammonia. Monitor ammonia levels closely, as they should drop to zero within 24 to 48 hours. At this point the zeolite can be removed or replaced with activated carbon.
